Tips, Advice and Care for Natural Nails / Press-on Nails

Tips for Optimal and Lasting Application

1. Natural Nail Preparation:

2. Protection Against Water and Chemicals:

  • Limit your hands' exposure to hot water; prefer lukewarm water for washing and showering.
  • After showering, press your nails and run cold water over them to strengthen their hold.
  • Avoid Chemicals
  • Aggressive household products, such as detergents and ammonia-based cleaners, can damage the adhesive and alter the color of your press-on nails. Use gloves when handling chemicals.

  • Do Not Rub Them Excessively.

Avoid repetitive rubbing and impact on your nails, as this could affect the adhesive and damage the surface of the press-on nails. Do not do as in some (fake nail) advertisements that intentionally cause impacts; this is just misleading marketing.

3. Post-Application Care:

  • Avoid applying cuticle oils or moisturizing creams to your nails within 3 hours of application. This could affect the adhesive's hold.

How to Remove Your False Nails Applied with Liquid Glue.

Classic Method:

How to Remove Your Press-On Nails Without Damaging Your Natural Nails?

Even though press-on nails are easy to apply, they must be removed with caution. Here's how to proceed:

Soak Your Nails in Hot Water
Hot water will help soften the glue. Soak your hands in lukewarm water for 10 to 15 minutes.
Gently Use a Cuticle Pusher
After softening the glue, use a cuticle pusher to gently lift the press-on nails. Do this gently so as not to damage your natural nails.
Remove Glue Residue
If glue residue remains on your natural nails, you can gently remove it with a buffer.

If residues remain on your nail tips, use a sanding bit and gently scrape; you should be able to remove them in a few seconds. Never apply nail polish remover directly to your false nails, as this could dilute/erase all the nail art.

Gentle Alternative - Sticking Your Nails with Gel-Pads:

  • Use Gel Pads (double-sided stickers) for a temporary application. Less aggressive, they provide effective hold for up to 4 days, without compromising the health of your natural nails.
  • They are for single use and are very easy to remove by gently lifting your nail tips (sometimes tedious because they stick really well), then remove the used gel pad by rubbing with your finger.
  • Your natural nails remain intact.

After Removal, Take Care of Your Natural Nails

  • Hydrate and nourish your natural nails with appropriate care to preserve their health and shine.
  • Rich oils or creams are ideal, prefer night masks!
  • Although it is also advisable to do so as often as possible during the day, applying a treatment at night allows your skin and nails to benefit from the treatment throughout.
  • Much more effective than during the day.

Consider taking breaks:

  1. Nails are not entirely dead; they grow, breathe, absorb.
  2. Give them a rest once in a while.
  3. Avoid wearing false nails permanently.
  4. Do nourishing treatments to maintain their beauty, especially if you prefer using liquid glues.

By following these tips, you will extend the lifespan of your false nails while taking care of your natural nails. Choose extra-strong liquid glue or Gel Pads according to your needs and enjoy an elegant and durable manicure with complete peace of mind!
